DS shooter Moon coming to 3DS this spring as episodic series Moon Chronicles

Posted on January 24, 2014 AT 11:12am

A remastered version of Moon, the 2009 first-person shooter for Nintendo DS from developer Renegade Kid, is coming to 3DS in episodic chunks titled Moon Chronicles, Renegade announced today.

The first episode, One Small Step, will contain chapters 1-4 and the “Tsukigami’s VR Training” missions and will be priced at $8.99. Episode 2, Episode 3, and Episode 4—containing chapters 5-8, 9-12, and 13-16—will only cost $1.99 each. All of the episodes will launch simultaneously on the 3DS eShop in March or April. If successful, Renegade hopes to develop a second season of Moon Chronicles content.

Earlier this month, co-founder Jools Watsham teased on Twitter “a pretty big announcement” coming that “FPS lovers and 3DS owners might be happy about.” At the time, speculation was that it would regard the studio’s other handheld first-person shooter project, Cult Country.

According to Renegade, Moon Chronicles will run at 60 frames per second in both 2D and 3D modes and will support the system’s Circle Pad Pro peripheral.
