The website 01net states that a source within Nintendo has told them that the 3DS is in for a huge makeover.

Nintendo has realized that they have failed to convince their customers that the 3D on the unit is completely harmless, the new model will have dual analog sticks and will have a toned down 3D effect.

So what does this mean for current 3DS owners? The source states that the engineers at Nintendo are spending many nights working on an attachment that will hook to the current 3DS that will be sold for only $10. Nintendo has also been asking developers to start producing games that require dual analog, this is causing an issue due to the scarce amount of development kits.

There are only around 300 produced every month, leaving many waiting to start their projects on new titles.
