Dust 514

CCP Games has announced an official start date for the open beta of its PlayStation 3 exclusive shooter Dust 514.

The shooter is designed to interact with the developer’s other title–the popular MMO Eve Online–and earlier this month CCP merged both sets of servers into one allowing players of both games to communicate with one another in-game.

“By uniting Dust 514 and Eve Online on the same single-shard server, CCP has accomplished something unprecedented in videogame history: a single persistent online universe of incredible depth and scale that bridges the PC and console platforms in real time,” CCP said.

“The launch of the Dust 514 open beta is another step towards our long-term vision for CCP and Eve,” added CCP chief executive Hilmar Petursson.
