E3 2012: Virtua Fighter Crashes The Party in Dead Or Alive 5 Trailer

Fighting game crossovers are always the rage because they’re always awesome. That’s why this E3 2012 trailer for Dead or Alive 5 has me so excited for the game’s release — Virtua Fighter‘s Akira Yuki and Sarah Bryant look great fighting against Team Ninja’s acrobatic cast of brawlers.

In the hands-on time that I got with the game at Tecmo Koei’s booth, it felt like everything about the game had been turned up a notch, and the gameplay just “clicked” better than Dead or Alive 4. Aside from the graphics getting a nice touch-up (each fighter looks realistically haggard, dirty, and sweaty after a match), the addition of “power blows” makes the combat system seem another level deeper.

Check out the trailer below and see what’s coming up when Dead or Alive 5 releases this September 25. It’s going to be the longest four months of my life.
