E3 2012: Far Cry 3 Adds To The Insanity With Four-Player Co-op
Posted on June 4, 2012 AT 06:53pm
If you thought nudity and tigers were going to be the two craziest things you saw in Far Cry 3 today, you were sorely mistaken. Onstage at the Sony press conference, four members of the development team revealed another big secret: a dedicated co-op campaign.
The brief demo we saw revolved around carrying bombs to a railway bridge under heavy enemy fire. The player carrying the bomb couldn’t shoot, meaning the other three players had to work together to provide him covering fire and take down enemy threats. We’re curious to see exactly how involved the campaign will be, but Ubisoft is touting it as an essential component of the game, presumably just as meaty as the open-world single-player campaign and the competitive online multiplayer.
Far Cry 3 launches on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on September 4.
