In a first for E3 press conferences, Ubisoft has announced a game through the power of dance alone. With nothing more than a few scantily clad dancers, a performance from rapper Flo Rida, and some gameplay footage in the background, the publisher has revealed that Just Dance 4 is on the way.
And that’s pretty much all they said. No platform information, no release date, but there you go. It exists, it’ll probably sell an ungodly number of copies, and the soundtrack includes “Moves Like Jagger” by Maroon 5 and a song from Flo Rida.
We’ll update this post with any more details that come in, but for now, take solace in the fact that yearly Just Dance games have become as inevitable as death and taxes.
Update: Ubisoft has sent over a press release offering up the first batch of confirmed tracks:
- Call Me Maybe – Carly Rae Jepsen
- Disturbia – Rihanna
- Good Feeling – Flo Rida
- Maneater – Nelly Furtado
- Moves Like Jagger – Maroon 5 ft. Christina Aguilera
- Never Gonna Give You Up – Rick Astley
- Rock Lobster– The B-52’s
- So What – P!nk
- Super Bass – Nicki Minaj
- You’re The First, The Last, My Everything – Barry White
- What Makes You Beautiful – One Direction
- Wild Wild West – Will Smith
The announcement also reveals a new head-to-head Battle Mode, an expanded Just Sweat mode, and the ability to unlock alternate choreographies.
A Wii U release has also been confirmed, alongside returning platforms Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii. The Wii U version will apparently be getting some exclusive features, including a five player Puppet Master Mode that allows the player with the tablet controllers to swap out choreographies in real time.
