Nintendo’s Wii U has only been seen in a white color scheme since the console was first announced, but last night during their online pre-E3 presentation, a black Wii U was visibly and unmistakably present in the video footage.
During the segment, a brief scene (pictured above) showed off the black Wii U and WiiPad from all angles during a motion control sequence, plus an online chat interface for the Wii U “Plaza” that appears to be compatible with a mobile app. Nintendo didn’t officially announce a mobile app, but one must wonder if it’s Android and/or iOS compatible.
Most notably, the Wii U and WiiPad were shown used together to broadcast a live Internet chat, as shown in the photo below. It appears to operate wirelessly in a fashion very similar to what the iPad and iPhone can do with Macintosh laptops and computers.
Hopefully, Nintendo expands on this further at their press conference on Tuesday. Stay tuned for more from EGM.
