Nintendo has just revealed Paper Mario Sticker Star at their E3 2012 press conference, showing off a new gameplay mechanic based on, well, stickers.

As shown to the press in attendance, Paper Mario Sticker Star turns all the game’s power-ups into stickers. Certain ones will allow players to stomp enemies, and others will equip weapons Mario can use, like a hammer.

Fitting the paper theme, mass groups of enemies can also be blown away with a wind attack, while areas can be peeled away by looking underneath certain stickers.

Nintendo confirmed that Paper Mario Sticker Star will be available on the 3DS this coming holiday season.
