While crossover brawler PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale was a shoe-in for Sony’s E3 presser, the game’s appearance did come with a few surprises.

For starters, developer SuperBot Entertainment revealed that Battle Royale will also be coming to the PlayStation Vita. What’s more, the team also announced that the the game will feature cross-platform play. This isn’t the basic save game transfers we’ve seen before, either. The on-stage four-player demo featured two people playing on the Vita and two on the PS3, all in the same match.

Additionally, SuperBot unveiled two new characters that’ll be appearing on the roster: Nathan Drake and BioShock‘s Big Daddy.

Everything else seems to be in line with what we’ve heard so far. Gameplay looks quite similar to Super Smash Bros., albeit with one major change. Doing damage builds up your Super meter, unlocking special, more powerful attacks. Once you’ve filled your meter to level 1, 2, or 3, you can perform a Super move of that level, enabling you to knock out the other players and score points.
