E3 2012: Quantic Dream’s Beyond: Two Souls Confirmed
Posted on June 4, 2012 AT 06:21pm
David Cage took to the stage at Sony’s E3 press conference to announce Quantic Dream’s next title, Beyond: Two Souls.
Built with the same revolutionary performance capture technology Quantic Dream used to create their Kara demo, Beyond: Two Souls stars Ellen Page as Jodie Holmes, a young woman with a sensitivity to the occult. Like Quantic Dreams’ past projects, Indigo Prophecy and Heavy Rain, the game looks to place a heavy emphasis on story. The game’s plot spans 15 years in Jodie’s life, meaning this could well be the most ambitious character-driven narrative gaming has ever seen.
The brief trailer showed Jodie being interviewed by a small town sheriff when a SWAT team bursts into the building looking to take her into custody. Some quick jump cuts later, the police station is in flames and Jodie is standing over one of SWAT guys, ominously warning him not to come after her again. Intriguing, to say the least.
Beyond: Two Souls is a PlayStation 3 exclusive. No release date has been announced as of yet.
