2K Games and Firaxis have released a new trailer for XCOM: Enemy Unknown, their upcoming remake of the classic sci-fi strategy franchise.

The trailer, entitled “Last Stand”, is more about cinematic flair than gameplay, but you’ll be able to spot quite a few of the game’s core mechanics, including base-building, research, and turn-based combat. You’ll also be able to spot several of the game’s extraterrestrial baddies, which, quite frankly, look a little too cute and cuddly to be imposing. Even still, Enemy Unknown is shaping up to be a faithful update to one of the best PC tactics game of all time.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is out on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on October 9.

2K Games and Firaxis have released a new trailer for XCOM: Enemy Unknown, their upcoming remake of the classic sci-fi strategy franchise.
