Battlefield 3

THE BUZZ: EA today confirmed sales numbers for Battlefield 3‘s first week of release, and those numbers are indeed impressive.

Of the 10 million copies of the game shipped to retailers, 5 million of those have already been sold to consumers in the game’s first week on sale. That number is quite a feet for EA—in fact, it makes Battlefield 3 the fastest-selling title in the history of EA.

As well, EA says that Battlefield 3 players are already responsible for 73 million kills, 48 million revives, and 67 million destroyed vehicles.

EGM’s TAKE: I know the Battlefield 3 vs. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 war will rage on, but let’s still give credit to EA and DICE—those are fantastic numbers, and a great boost for the franchise. So, congratulations to everyone involved, and I hope all five million of those copies are currently being enjoyed to the fullest!
