EA Announces Classic SSX DLC for SSX

THE BUZZ: If you’re a fan of the original era of EA’s snowboarding series SSX, then good news—a new pack of DLC content is coming to that’ll let you relieve those glory days via the new SSX.

EGM’s TAKE: I haven’t had a chance to play the most recent rebirth of SSX just yet, but I’m a long-time fan of the original SSX games—the first one was easily one of the games I most played in my first year of PS2 ownership.

The first piece is Mt. Eddie Pack, which EA says is “a TRICKY inspired, ultra-long mountain that features 9 new Race and Trick drops, and is filled with huge kickers, ridiculous grinds, a halfpipe, fireworks, and a whole lot more – the classic SSX experience!”

As well, you’ll be able to get a Classic Characters Pack, which will net you seven retro SSX characters from SSX Tricky and SSX 3, each of which comes with an assortment of outfits and their own unique snowboard. In addition to that, getting the full DLC pack will net you 3 classic SSX music tracks.

Each of the two DLC packs—the Mt. Eddie Pack and the Classic Characters Pack—will be sold individually for $5.99, or you’ll be able to buy both together for $7.99. At that point, really, I’m not sure why you’d ever consider getting only one of the packs instead of getting the $8 combo pack. That deal is, as Elise would say, “sweeter than candy”.

These Classic SSX DLC Packs will go on sale May 1st, and EA promises more details, screenshots, and video leading up to that date.
