EA Closes Studio Behind Harry Potter Games
Posted on January 5, 2012 AT 04:12pm
THE BUZZ: Bright Light Studios may have been experts at making games about sorcery, but it seems the developer’s magic has run out.
Industry news site Develop reports that parent company EA has officially shut down the studio, who had of late had been in charge of the series of Harry Potter licensed games. While the studio had officially closed late last year, word has just started to come out now due to the fact that some employees had been kept on for a short time for consultation.
While it is known that some of the staff from Bright Light Studios have moved on to other positions in EA, exactly how many previous staff members of the developer are now out of work is not yet known.
EGM’s TAKE: Hearing about a game development studio closing is never good news. We here at EGM wish all of the best to those who were affected by this decision.
