An EA spokesperson has rubbished claims made earlier this week regarding a 2014 release for Mass Effect 4.

Earlier this week Gamer Syndrome reported that a source had told the site that Mass Effect 4 would be releasing in 2014 and that development had only begun on the game a few months ago. The site also added that EA planned to reveal more about the game in 2013.

An EA rep has since confirmed to G4 that “at no time did EA or BioWare provide any answers to questions from Gamer Syndrome.”

Gamer Syndrome has since updated its own post with the following apology: “The information provided previously by the author of this post was deemed to be obtained from an inaccurate source and NOT an official BioWare or EA interview response. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
