EA Sports is currently working on a tie-in game for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, according to EA CEO Andrew Wilson.
Wilson confirmed the news during EA’s second quarter 2014 earnings call. ”In the last two weeks, you’ve also seen several announcements about our product slate for the remainder of this year and into FY ’15,” he said. ”We are refining our focus on our biggest brands and great new IP in development, including The Sims 4, EA Sports UFC, FIFA World Cup and Dragon Age: Inquisition.”
Since FIFA Road to World Cup 98, EA has released a title to coincide with every World Cup and European Championship. They were all released as a standalone titles, except 2012′s UEFA European Championship, which was released as an expansion for FIFA 12.
