The next Madden game will be titled Madden NFL 25, EA confirmed today.

The name change was hinted in a graphic spotted yesterday.

“There’s no better way to celebrate and mark the culmination of 25 years of innovation than by naming this year’s game Madden NFL 25,” said EA Sports general manager of American football Cam Weber. “This year’s game will push the boundaries with gameplay and feature innovations that will lay a very strong foundation for the next 25 years of this storied franchise.”

As part of the 25th anniversary celebration, EA plans to hold a massive vote for the Madden NFL 25 cover athlete. Thirty-two of the “all-time NFL greats” and 32 modern NFL athletes will vie for the honor. Voting starts Monday, March 11 on ESPN.com/MaddenVote. A live unveil of the brackets will also be broadcast on Monday, March 11 at 4:00pm ET during a special edition of SportsNation on ESPN2.
