Titanfall DLC confirmed, will be shaped by player base and ‘evolve over time’

Posted on January 28, 2014 AT 04:01pm

Titanfall, gratefully, won’t be launching with day-one DLC, but EA does intend to release additional content following its launch, CEO Andrew Wilson confirmed during an investor call today.

“We’re planning extra content already for the product, but in the nature of the live service, I think that that will evolve over time as we see how the player base evolves through the year, “Wilson said.

Wilson didn’t comment on the nature of potential Titanfall DLC, but given that the game lacks a more traditional, offline single-player mode, map packs, new modes, or even new Titan models are among the most likely candidates.

Titanfall launches on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Windows PC March 11 in North America, March 13 in Europe, and March 14 in the U.K. Yesterday, Respawn Entertainment co-founder Vince Zampella confirmed that a Titanfall beta on PC and Xbox One will be held, promising “details in the coming days.” Zampella also finally revealed that the Xbox 360 version of Titanfall is being handled by Bluepoint Games, whose previous port work includes the God of War Collection on PS3 and the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for both PS3 and Xbox 360.
