EA is celebrating FIFA Ultimate Team’s fifth birthday by running promotions and giving away free packs.
Ultimate Team was first introduced as premium DLC back in FIFA 09, from here it quickly went on to become the franchises’ largest and most popular game mode and has appeared in every iteration of the game since. The idea is simply, players are able to build a squad out of every player available in the game and can earn coins by playing matches. These coins can then be spent on packs of players or on individual players from the market.
Players who log into Ultimate Team from today and click on the anniversary banner will be given five free Gold Rare Packs. The items unlocked in these packs are untradable, so don;t think about making a quick bunch of coins. Also, from now until Monday, EA has turned back on the Ultimate Team web app’s daily gifts. By logging into the app once a day players can earn free coins or a Bronze Pack.
Players can also pick up five Jumbo Gold Premium Packs for the discounted rate of 5000 coins each (usually 15,000). Players are limited to a maximum of five packs at this discounted price.
Finally, EA has released a special red Man of the Match version of Robin van Persie to celebrate his hat-trick in the Champions League.
