Electronic Arts plans on rotating Battlefield, Titanfall, and Star Wars: Battlefront releases going forward, president of EA Labels Frank Gibeau told CVG.
“The shooter rotation we think about now is Battlefield, Titanfall, and Battlefront, and so we like those three brands going forward,” Gibeau told CVG. “We’re working out how we’re going to line that up because that’s what you’ll see from us.”
What this more or less confirms is the franchising of Titanfall and Battlefront and that—pending any kind of impossible-to-predict floppage—there’ll be consistent new releases for those franchises over the next few years.
Battlefield 4 kicks off the rotation October 29 on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC, with PS4 and Xbox One versions to follow in November. Titanfall is due out spring 2014, while Battlefront‘s release could be as late as summer 2015 (which would coincide with the next Star Wars film).
