EA and BioWare have revealed a 10-year plan for the recently unveiled Anthem, similar to the one Bungie and Activision have for Destiny.

Anthem is a social game where you and your friends go on quests and journeys,” EA’s executive VP Patrick Soderlund told Game Rant. “It’s a game that we’ve been working on for almost four years now, and once we launch it next year I think it’ll be the start of a ten-year journey for us.”

The game was officially announced during EA’s press conference at E3 and got an extended gameplay preview during Microsoft’s conference.

For those who missed the reveal, Anthem is a shared-world action RPG that places players in the role of a Freelancer, exosuit-wearing adventurers who have the courage to leave the comforts of Fort Tarsis behind to explore dangerous new landscapes.

Players will jump into power Javelin Exosuits when leaving the city. These powerful pieces of machinery each offer unique weapons and abilities that allow players to jump, climb, fly, and swim around the game world.

Anthem is scheduled to arrive in early 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
