EA Removes Kinect Support From Upcoming Game

Posted on June 22, 2011 AT 04:58pm

Lately, all the talk over on the Xbox 360 side of things has been about adding Kinect functionality to games. EA, however, has decided to remove Kinect support from one of their upcoming titles.

That game? Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. For their video game version of Part 1, Kinect support was part of the overall gameplay. Though Kinect support isn’t being named as the blame, the game did very poorly when it came to review scores, will all versions of the game having around a 40% rating on GameRankings.

Due to that, the team at EA decided to change their focus for this follow-up title. “We didn’t want to dilute any of our efforts on other things that would require a lot of the team’s time to perfect,” EA producer Gary Napper told Joystiq.
