THE BUZZ: EA has announced that it has shipped 3.5 million units of Mass Effect 3 to retailers worldwide.
The publisher also mentioned that the game has enjoyed more than 30 perfect review scores and that the Xbox 360 version currently sits on a 95 Metascore.
“We have been truly humbled by the amazing response from fans and critics for Mass Effect 3,” said BioWare co-founder Dr. Ray Muzyka. ”The game is a gripping, engaging experience where the decisions and choices you make will truly stay with you for the months and years ahead. We are all incredibly proud of Casey Hudson and the teams in Edmonton and Montreal for delivering the best game BioWare has ever made.”

This comes on the back of Mass Effect 3 selling nearly 900,000 units in its first 24 hours on sale in the U.S.
EGM’s TAKE: We all knew that Mass Effect 3 was going to be a resounding success no matter what anyone feared. All the anger at day one DLC meant nothing in the long term as people flocked to get this game in their consoles or PCs. Keep in mind that this is units shipped, this doesn’t mean that all 3.5 million were sold. But we suspect that a fair chunk of them went to a good home.
