Even though Nintendo, Sega, THQ, and Microsoft are skipping Gamescom this August, EA will be there in full force, showing off several titles that they showcased at E3 2012.

Given the region and crowd, EA’s presence is an extremely fortunate thing for the convention, as the publisher will presenting several titles at the show, with the most popular one likely being FIFA 13. EA will also be featuring Crysis 3, Need for Speed Most Wanted, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, and SimCity, along with new content that may be a first-look for attendees.

Even with the loss of two major console makers and two large publishers, the Cologne, Germany gaming convention is still picking up new exhibitors, according to MCV UK. One such company includes electronics giant Samsung, along with over 300 other exhibitors from “more than 30 nations.”

Considering that most developers and gaming companies put their money into E3 2012 this month, perhaps it’s not unusual to expect some of the bigger guys to skip another international expo just two months afterward.

However, it’s notable that Gamescom is roughly six times the size of E3—Gamescom boasted 275,000 attendees last year to E3’s much smaller 46,800 head count. Why miss the chance to attract that many gamers to your wares?
