Need for Speed

EA has signed pro rally driver Ken Block in order to use his expertise to help shape the Need for Speed franchise, the publisher has announced.

Block will take on the role of racing adviser for Need for Speed, offering the development team personal and professional insights into real-life competitive racing. Block previously appeared in Codemasters’ DIRT series of rally games. It hasn’t been officially announced if his partnership with the publisher has now ended, but this tweet seems to suggest it has.

“Partnering with EA and Need for Speed is a natural fit for our team,” Block said. “I feel like we both have the same goal in mind: to let people live out a fantasy of really pushing the limits of what you can do in the driver’s seat.”

Need for Speed Rivals is set to release November 19 in North America and November 22 in Europe for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will be available at launch.
