EA Summer Showcase: Real Racing 3 Is Firemonkeys’ First Title For iPad
Posted on August 2, 2012 AT 02:52pm
It looks like merger between EA’s mobile studios Firemint and Iron Monkey is already producing an anticipated best seller, as Real Racing 3 was announced today for iPad devices. It’s currently scheduled for a 2012 release, and will feature real-world tracks instead of more generic locations and courses seen in the first two core racing titles.
In order to fuel some more real-world parity into the game, Firemonkeys will also be introducing Porsche to the series.
Other licensed cars will include the Dodge and Audi car companies, along with some others that will be announced later.
And while you could buy Real Racing 3 at launch, history shows that given enough time, EA will put the game on sale for insanely cheap prices. In fact, they’ve been known to go on sale for as low as 99 cents during certain points of the year.
Curiously, Real Racing 3 wasn’t confirmed for Android devices, although the announcement will surely come later.
Real Racing 2 was recently made compatible with the Google Nexus 7 tablet, and currently shares space in the Google Play store with EA’s Need For Speed titles.
