Nintendo Switch

Electronic Arts may bring more than just sports games to the Nintendo Switch.

At the moment, FIFA 18 is the only game of EA’s that will definitely make an appearance on Nintendo’s newest console. A recent earnings call, however, revealed that EA is interested in offering more of its games on the Switch.

“So far we feel really good about it,” EA CEO Andrew Wilson said of the Switch (via VG 24/7). “We continue to be bullish on it and are looking at other titles that we might bring to the Switch. We have a tremendous relationship with Nintendo and have done for many, many years and are excited by the fact that they have come out very strong and are bringing in a whole new player base into the ecosystem.”

Wilson didn’t elaborate on which other games could appear on the console, but EA’s other sports games—similar to FIFA 18—are likely strong contenders. If, however, EA chose to bring one of its bigger non-sports games over to the Switch—a Battlefield or a Mass Effect, for instance—it would signal a major change in the Switch’s third-party fortunes.

FIFA 18 will likely release this September, if it follows the model of past FIFA entries.
