Sledgehammer Games has announced that the first seasonal community event for Call of Duty: WWII will begin on December 5th.

The event, titled “Winter Siege,” will run until January and makes a winter version of the Carentan map free to all players in all multiplayer modes. Currently, the Carentan map is only available to owners of the season pass and Digital Deluxe Edition. As well as this, there will be weekly Winter Siege rewards for players.

The developer also announced that double XP will be available to all players from now until 10 a.m. PT on Monday, November 27th.

Finally, it was revealed that the first ranked season is scheduled to kick off on consoles on Friday, December 1st. “Battle your way through the tiers to earn rewards based on your Season 1 ranking for the ultimate in competitive bragging rights,” the developer added.

In other news, headquarters has returned to its former glory and will now be fully populated, allowing players to socialize, compete, show off, and earn rewards.

Call of Duty: WWII is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
