If Hollywood has taught me one thing, it’s that bank heists never go as planned. You’ll now have your chance to prove that right or wrong as Sony Online Entertainment announces PAYDAY: The Heist for PS3.

Developed by OVERKILL Software (and published by SOE), PAYDAY: The Heist is “an action-filled first person shooter for the PlayStation Network that lets you take on the role of a hardened career criminal executing intense, dynamic heists in constant pursuit of the next ‘big score’.”

As a team of four, you and three other players (human or AI) will have to make it through six “high-state heists”, which will include not only bank robberies, but also prisoner extractions and armored car hijackings.

The game will feature dynamic environments, adaptive enemy behavior, drop-in-and-out online multiplayer, shifting entry points, FBI and SWAT teams determined to stop you, and more. You’ll choose your favorite of three specialties – assault, sharpshooter, or support – and you’ll be able to unlock new weapons and more.
