Last week’s Mortal Kombat 11 roster leak didn’t go unnoticed from one of the game’s most public-facing developers.
Just before the weekend, a list of Mortal Kombat 11 achievements seemingly leaked a ton of unannounced characters, and NetherRealm Studios’ creative director, Ed Boon, is none too happy about it.
Boon recently responded to the leaks in the form of a quoted tweet from the official Mortal Kombat 11 account. “Hey, Sonya,” he asked, “what are your thoughts on leaks?” Sonya’s response is to perform what looks to be one of her devastating Fatal Blows on Scorpion.

Obviously, this is far from an official confirmation that Cassie Cage, Jacqui, and Kotal Kahn (among others) are returning to the series, but Boon’s playfully negative reaction does seemingly insinuate that the leak wasn’t completely off the mark.
Boon went on to tweet that another character was “konfirmed”: Blanche, from Mortal Kombat X. Obviously, this is a joke, since Blanche was a background character in the Outerworld Marketplace stage who you could throw at your opponents to perform finishing Brutalities, but it would be pretty fun to play as her nonetheless.

As for when we’ll see our next real character reveal, we’re hoping that NetherRealm announces another addition to the roster on February 12th, when it’s hosting its next Kombat Kast on Twitch.
Mortal Kombat 11 launches for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on April 23rd.
