The many vocal Injustice 2 fans opposed to the inclusion of too many Mortal Kombat characters as DLC have won the battle, it appears. According to the game’s creative director, no such characters will be included in Fighter Pack 3.
A recent Twitter post from a fan site asked fans to discuss whether or not they expect the next batch of DLC characters to deliver a new Mortal Kombat character. Creative director Ed Boon abruptly put an end to the speculation, with a simple Twitter response of “Nope.”

While we have an idea of who won’t be showing up in Injustice 2‘s third DLC, fans are still waiting to learn who will. Boon might have recently hinted at what DC character we can expect, teasing a name that starts with “Black.” Fans shouldn’t get too carried away with it, however, as there is also the possibility that it is just a Premier skin for an existing fighter.
The trio of characters in the upcoming Fighter Pack 2 DLC was recently revealed, including Black Manta, Hellboy, and Mortal Kombat’s Raiden. Black Manta is the first of the group expected to hit the game- coming September 12th- with recent gameplay of the fighter demonstrating how he handles himself.
