The upcoming Thief reboot will no longer feature any quick-time events, Eidos Montreal has announced.

In a recent Q&A the developer was asked how QTEs would be handled so as not to break immersion. “Easy, we’re not implementing them,” replied Valerie Bourdeau. “To begin with, there were very few instances of QTEs in the game: in fact there was only one in that whole hour-long E3 demo.

“However, given the strong reactions it evoked in the press and the community, it was an easy decision to do away with them entirely. So we’re not doing it. No quick time.”

Square Enix has previously confirmed that Thief will be available on February 25, 2014 in North America and February 28, 2014 in Europe for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
