Enemy Front delayed until summer 2014

World War II first-person shooter Enemy Front has been pushed back to a summer 2014 release, according to the game’s official website.

EGM Partner Program member AntDaGamer also seems to have acquired a sales sheet for the game that lists a June 2014 release, but how accurate it may be is yet to be determined.

Described by developer CI Games as “the first truly modern WWII FPS,” Enemy Front looks to put players in the boots of American war correspondent Robert Hawkins, who gets swept up in the resistance movement in France and is taken on a wild ride across war-torn Europe.

This is the first significant news we’ve heard about Enemy Front in some time. Former Criterion developer Stuart Black, who worked on such games as Black and Bodycount, served as creative director on Enemy Front until he abruptly left CI Games in 2012. Since then, the game has been in limbo, with this serving as only the most recent of many delays seen over the past two years.

Whenever Enemy Front does finally come out, it will be available on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
