Epic Games gains Pitbull Studio, renames Epic Games UK

Posted on August 5, 2014 AT 11:25am

Pitbull Studio, contributors to Unreal Engine 4’s development as well as Silent Hill: Downpour and Gears of War: Judgment, is now Epic Games UK following the latter company’s acquisition of the former.

Formed in 2009, Pitbull’s work on the Unreal Engine 4 technology includes rendering, audio, physics, visual scripting, UI, platform support, localization tools, and more. They assisted with programming and art on Gears of War: Judgment, and “helped fix up several bugs, especially with multiplayer gameplay,” according to the studio’s portfolio page.

“Becoming Epic Games UK was the next logical step in our relationship with Epic,” Pitbull general manager Robert Troughton said in a press statement. “We’re looking forward to expanding our amazing team here in the UK.”

The studio is actively hiring a smattering of positions, including animation programmer, developer relations engineer, developer relations technical artist, engine community manager, engine programmer, support engineer, and tools programmer.
