A lot of fans will probably not be too happy about this, but Epic Games is not ruling out the possibility of a first-person-shooter entry in the Gears of War franchise, stating that you should never say never.

When asked about the possibility of an FPS entry into the series by OXM, Epic Games’ executive producer Rod Fergusson replied, “I’m a big believer in never say never. It’s all about what’s interesting in the industry at the time and where fans want us to take it. We don’t want to say never but it’s not on the top of my mind either. We look at what makes sense and move in that direction.”

I’d like the series to stay in the third person, however that’s not to say that an FPS wouldn’t work. It’s all about audience reception, and I feel that a large number of fans would instantly be turned off by the idea before even seeing what it would look like.
