Epic Games has revealed that the fate of the third Carmine brother will not be revealed until the games official release date.

Last year Epic ran a promotion that allowed players to vote for whether Carmine lived or died in Gears of War 3 by purchasing a t-shirt with the proceeds going to charity.

Epic Games Preident Mike Capps told Gamescom attendees that the team had written multiple Carmine endings into the game in case of leaks.

“We actually wrote both [endings] in the game just in case the game leaked so no-one would be able to tell what happens,”

“And so we won’t tell you now. September 20 everyone will find out.”

A preview of Gears of War 3 was leaked online a last month and Epic has stated that users found to be sharing videos of the leaked version online will be banned from the full game.
