Escape Dead Island, a spin-off that bridges the gap between the events of the first Dead Island and Dead Island 2, is set to launch November 18 in North America and November 21 in Europe, Deep Silver has announced.
As well as bridging the gap between the first and second games, Escape Dead island will also looking into the origins of the virus that caused the outbreak. In the game, players will step into the shoes of Cliff Calo, the spoiled son of a powerful media mogul. Chris has stolen a yacht with his friends and is determined to film a documentary exposing the truth of the outbreak on the island of Banoi.
However, it won’t just be zombies that players have to face this time. Chris also has to deal with his own deteriorating sanity. “Time distorts and folds in on itself; strange messages appear and impossible events shatter reality. Oceans turn to blood, containers plummet from the clear sky,” Senior Narrative Producer Alex Toplansky explained when the game was announced earlier this year.
Pre-ordering the game will grant access to the Dead Island 2 beta when it goes live.
Escape Dead Island is in development for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
