Between now and January 15, Europeans who purchase a 3DS XL and register it with the Nintendo Network get to pick a free eShop game.

There are only five 3DS titles for European gamers to choose from, but hey—a free game is a free game is a free game.

The five games in question are:

  • Super Mario 3D Land
  • New Style Boutique
  • New Art Academy
  • Freakyforms Deluxe Your Creations, Alive!
  • Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask
You can’t go wrong with Mario (provided you like Mario), and Professor Layton is pretty damn popular. Can’t say anything about the other games, though.

More details/instructions are available on Nintendo UK’s website.
