Europe Getting Fatal Frame 2 Remake for Wii

THE BUZZ: As part of the Nintendo Direct event earlier today, Wii owners in Europe found out that they’ll be getting the Wii remake of Fatal Frame 2.

EGM’s TAKE: I love Fatal Frame 2. I mean really, really love it. It was one of my favorite survival horror games last generation, and I just adored how it mixed a legitimately scary environment with interesting characters and storyline elements.

While I’d love to see a sweet HD remake of the game, that may never happen now that Nintendo official owns the rights to the series (titled Project Zero in Japan). What I can get, however, is a Wii remake of the game.

Well—maybe I can get it. As part of today’s announcements by Nintendo, we now know that those lucky gamers in Europe will be getting the Fatal Frame 2 Wii remake sometime this year. What about us here in the good old US of A? Yeah, I’m not exactly going to be holding my breath waiting for that to happen. Europe has turned into the land of sunshine and rainbows when it comes to Wii games being brought over from Japan, while us here in America are never sure when we’ll get those same games—if we even get them at all.

So, let’s hope. Just don’t get those hopes up too much.
