EverQuest Next Landmark Launching This Winter

Posted on August 2, 2013 AT 05:02pm

In addition to the new EverQuest, SOE also announced EverQuest Next Landmark a free-to-play world-building sandbox title meant to lead up to and introduce elements of EverQuest Next.

Landmark gives players access to the same tools SOE is using to build EQN, and through Landmark—which is essentially Minecraft–esque in nature—SOE will collaborate with their fanbase by guiding them on how to build structures and environments in procedurally generated, persistent worlds. The structures built in collaboration between SOE and players will be then be incorporated in EverQuest Next.

Players will be able to interact with one another in Landmarks, assisting in their construction projects, staking territory and building materials, and generating an economy through SOE’s player-created goods marketplace, Player Studio (through which they can also earn real world cash on every purchase).

EverQuest Next Landmark launches later this winter on Windows PC.
