Evolve ‘Happy Hunting’ trailer teases giant alien hunts and big guns

Posted on February 11, 2014 AT 05:57am

2K has released a new trailer for Turtle Rock’s upcoming shooter Evolve that features an intrepid team of alien hunters taking on a giant beast.

“Hunt,” sees one player pitted against four others. Of course the player on his/her own has a slight edge as they will take on the role of a giant alien, known as a Goliath, who can take a hell of  beating and even evolve to become bigger, stronger, and faster as the fight goes on by feeding.

Evolve features a very familiar, yet completely different, team of four hunters who will all fill a specific role in taking down a wide variety of aliens. First up is the assault class, whose main job is to bring the damage with heavy weaponry. Next up is the medic has the power to heal the part with AOE and direct healing, but can also use a tranquilizer gun to slow and mark enemies.

The Support class can call in airstrikes, deploy a portable shield, go invisible, and provide buffs to teammates. Finally, the Trapper has access to a harpoon-style weapon that tethers an enemy, reducing its movement speed until the line is broken, and can deploy a large dome that encases a creature for a limited time allowing other team members to attack freely.

Evolve is set to release fall 2014 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
