Experience the Combat of Konami’s Beyond the Labyrinth

THE BUZZ: One of the more interesting-looking upcoming Japanese titles for Nintendo’s 3DS is Beyond the Labyrinth. Developed for Konami by longtime RPG masters tri-Ace, Beyond the Labyrinth is a dungeon crawler that has been given a very artistic, etherial look and feel.
In this new trailer for the game, more elements are shown off, including the real-time battles where players are tasked with defending the story’s female main character.
EGM’s TAKE: Beyond the Labyrinth is easily one of the games I’m most excited to see more of when it comes to upcoming 3DS releases. However, I’m not totally jazzed about the combat from what I’m seeing here—I’ve just never been a huge fan of the “paper/rock/scissors” type of battle system that a lot of Japanese developers seem to love.
