THE BUZZ: Lionhead Studios and Random House have announced plans to expand the Fable universe with novels, digital shorts and a World Bible.
Three digital shorts will be released in May, around the same time as Fable Heroes, concentrating on three major characters from the franchise.
The first novel, “Fable: At The Edge Of The World,” will be written by New York Times bestselling author Christie Golden. It explains the story between Fable III and Fable: The Journey, and will be available August.
Finally the Fable bible, ”will be a living document that will cover all previously-released Fable products and serve as a comprehensive reference for any creators working in the Fable world,” according to Lionhead.
EGM’s TAKE: The Fable universe has always been full of interesting characters and stories, it’s only natural that writers and artists want to capture that universe and tell fans more about it. The most interesting of all these new additions has to be that novel, being penned by a bestselling author we are expecting big things from this one. Plus we would really like to know how we got from being King/Queen of Albion to riding a horse and cart around the place.
