Microsoft has removed the Facebook and Twitter apps from the Xbox 360 dashboard following the latest update that occurred this week.
Although both apps are still shown on Xbox.com neither of them are available from the dashboard anymore, instead the only way to access these services is through the new Internet Explorer browser. Consoles that had the apps installed prior to their removal can still use them, however all new users will have to go through the browser.
A source familiar with the matter has told The Verge that the reason for the apps removal is to encourage users to use the newly added Internet Explorer browser.
Are you happy about using the browser instead of the apps? Let us know in the comments below.
