Fallout 4 is Bethesda’s most successful game ever, according to Bethesda boss Pete Hines.

In an appearance on the Kinda Funny Gamescast, Hines remarked that “Fallout 4 has gotta be the most successful game we’ve ever launched in our company’s history. More than Skyrim, in terms of what we did.”

At launch, Skyrim sold roughly 20 million copies, while Fallout 4 sold only 12 million. According to Hines, though, Fallout 4 has closed the gap in the year since it’s been released. In other words, 15 months out from its release, Fallout 4 has sold more copies than Skyrim had sold 15 months after its release.

This means that Fallout 4 is also outselling titles from Bethesda’s other popular series’, beating out Wolfenstein, Doom, and the rest of the Elder Scrolls games.

Exact sales numbers for Fallout 4 have not been disclosed.
