Far be it from me to put the brakes on the Fallout 4 hype train (pictured above), but it doesn’t look like fans of the post-apocalyptic RPG franchise should expect any announcements at this weekend’s VGX.
When Bethesda VP of marketing Pete Hines mentioned on Twitter that he was headed to L.A. for business, it kicked off speculation that he might be heading to Spike’s revamped videogame awards show to publicly unveil the hotly anticipated (and recently teased) Fallout 4. Hines quickly squashed those rumors with a fairly unequivocal denial.
No, folks. I am not going to VGX. Bethesda is not showing/talking about anything at VGX. Just some PR meetings in LA. Take deep breaths.

That being said, the recent ARG-style shenanigans on The Survivor 2299 make it clear that there’s a Fallout-related reveal coming very soon—just over six days from now, if that’s indeed what the clock is counting down to. Until then, Vault Dwellers, have patience.
