Killzone developer Guerrilla Games’ hiring of Fallout: New Vegas lead writer John Gonzales points to the possibility that the new IP the studio teased in September might be an open-world game, considering the writer’s speciality.
According to Gonzales’ LinkedIn profile, spotted by NeoGAF user “KZObsessed,” the writer was hired by Guerrilla Games in September, about the same time the studio told Eurogamer they had started work on a new IP. Gonzales specifically mentions that, as a writer, his “focus is storytelling for open-world role-plalying games. Because they are awesome.”
This is, of course, all supposition and speculation at this point, but Guerrilla Games did tell Eurogamer that “as a studio, we do want to branch out” and that the new IP is “something completely different to Killzone.” Given the specificity of Gonzales’ skill sets as a writer, it strong hints at something open-world in the works at Guerrilla.
