Roadhouse Interactive and ACRONYM Games’ browser-based MMORPG Family Guy Online will be featuring cross-promotional content from “Ted”, the foul-mouthed teddy bear co-star of Universal Pictures’ upcoming film of the same name.
Although Ted won’t be a playable character, players will be able to spot him in several location within Family Guy Online such as the Drunken Clam, where interacting with him will earn special achievements and in-game items.
And just in case you happen to miss all that content, the game will also have in-game posters for the film.
Considering that Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane is also directing/producing, writing, and starring in Ted, it makes sense that Fox and Universal Studios would do as much cross promotion as humanly possible. Still, it’s not quite as shameless as the in-game advertising provided by content featuring “Axe Anarchy Body Spray” and Klondike’s ”Choco Taco” snack.
