Max Payne has never been an especially cheery guy, but as it turns out, it’s actually pretty funny to watch him go through the motions of a day running errands. I mean, aside from the drugs, alcohol, depression, brooding, and all that.
To that end, Australian filmmaker Michael Shanks hits the nail right on the head with “A Day in the Life of Max Payne”.
From making toast, reading the obituaries (make sure to pause at 0:18 in the clip below), and helping someone with their car, Shanks takes the Payne-ful route through an average day in the life of Max Payne 3‘s titular hero. It’s even layered with the distracting and trademark narration style of the game, in a nice visual touch.
Still, the special effects and slo-motion are kind of hard to watch.
We can only imagine how scuffed up he’s gotten from taking so many bullet-time diving falls. Ouch.
