Fandom Fun: ‘Halo 5′ Spoof Shows Just How Obnoxious Halo Players Can Be

And now, for your viewing pleasure, one fan’s vision of the Halo 5 Experience on Xbox 720.

The graphics look real because they are real—try wrapping your noodle around that.

There’s something weirdly uncomfortable about watching real people act like total morons while trash-talking like total morons—which I reckon is the point behind this video. At least, I hope that it is. It seems very tongue-in-cheek. But even as a joke, I can’t help but roll my eyes—this level of childishness is what keeps me away from online gaming. And it’s super prevalent in Halo. Worse yet, equally from age-qualifying “adults” as fourteen-year-olds.

Chris Holzworth, Editorial Intern
Chris Holzworth has wanted to report on and critique games all his life. He first cut his teeth writing for enthusiast sites such as RPGFan, then took a break from gaming to study English, creative writing, and linguistics at Rutgers University. Started out as EGM's obligatory east coast correspondent before selling out and moving to the west coast. Chris is particularly keen on examining narrative structure, character development, and writing in video games. Frequently opens mouth, inserts foot, often where twittery things happen: @chrisholzworth. Meet the rest of the crew.
